7. Complete your audit and have it assessed
Your chosen auditor (if approved) will visit your business and complete your TruckSafe SMS. They will advise if your systems has any weaknesses or parts missing and request you fix them before finalising your audit and handing it to us. We will assess your entry audit and if everything is in order, issue you with a provisional certificate.
8. Congratulations you are now certified to the 2024 TruckSafe SMS
Congratulations! Once you have been issued with a provisional certificate you can proudly promote your business as being amongst the safest in the road transport industry. You can use your certificate when tendering for contracts and to give your customers and supply chain partners confidence you are actively taking steps to minimise or eliminate risks in the workplace.
9. When your certificate is close to expiring request another audit to continue your certification
6 months after your provisional certificate is issued you will need to complete an ongoing audit after which our independent expert panel will make an assessment, and if satisfied will issue you with a certificate for full certification for up to 18 months. Successive certificates issued after an external ongoing audit will be up to 2 years in duration. We will let you know when your audit is due well in advance to ensure you make arrangements to obtain a new certificate before your current one expires.
These ongoing external audits are to ensure your systems continue to work and evolve in line with your business.
